International Cooperation
As the central national film institution, the Slovenian Film Centre connects Slovenian cinema with the European and broader international arena. Through its involvement in international organisations, networks, and partner initiatives, it participates in shaping film policies, exchanging knowledge and best practices, and representing the interests of the Slovenian film and audiovisual sector.
International cooperation creates better conditions for the development and production of films, co-production collaboration, and the professional growth of Slovenian creators and producers. The SFC supports their inclusion in international training programmes, professional events, film markets, and other platforms where they can develop projects, establish partnerships, and expand their professional networks. Among the effects of these activities, the SFC's strategy particularly emphasises the greater competitiveness and visibility of Slovenian creators and their projects on the international scene.
An important part of this international activity is also the promotion of Slovenian films at festivals and markets, as well as presenting Slovenia as an attractive environment for filming and international audiovisual production. Through its memberships and partnerships, the SFC thus strengthens the presence of Slovenian film abroad, opens up opportunities for new collaborations, and enables Slovenia's active involvement in the development of European film culture and industry.

European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN)
The Slovenia Film Commission is a member of the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN), which brings together film commissions and gives international producers easier access to information on filming locations, production conditions and incentives across Europe.
European Film Promotion (EFP)
The Slovenian Film Centre is a member of European Film Promotion (EFP), a network that brings together European film institutions and promotes European films and filmmakers internationally, including beyond Europe.
European Film Agency Directors association (EFAD)
The Slovenian Film Centre is a member of the European Film Agency Directors Association (EFAD), which brings together national film and audiovisual agencies and represents their shared interests at the European level.
European Film Agencies Research Network (EFARN)
EFARN is an informal network of experts from European film agencies who collect, analyse and exchange data on the European film industry. The network operates within EFAD, while its secretariat is managed by the European Audiovisual Observatory.
Eurimages
Slovenia is a member of Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s cultural support fund, which promotes international film co-productions, distribution and audience access to European films. Slovenia is represented in the fund by the Slovenian Film Centre.
International Partnerships and Initiatives
RE-ACT
The Slovenian Film Centre is one of the founding partners of the RE-ACT initiative, which brings together film institutions from Croatia, Slovenia and the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and supports the development of regional co-productions, cross-border cooperation and the internationalisation of filmmakers.
ReActing as a Star
An international professional programme that connects experienced actors from Southeast European countries with international casting directors, agents, directors and other film professionals. Through workshops, presentations and networking, it supports their professional development and participation in international film projects.

Slovenia Film Commission
The Slovenia Film Commission operates within the Slovenian Film Centre and provides international producers and film crews with information and support in planning and carrying out shoots in Slovenia.

Creative Europe Desk Slovenia
Creative Europe Desk Slovenia (CED Slovenia) is the national information point for the EU’s Creative Europe programme, providing information and advice on European calls for proposals, funding opportunities, partner searches, and international cooperation in culture, film and other audiovisual fields.
Creative Europe – MEDIA
The MEDIA strand of the EU’s Creative Europe programme supports the development, production, distribution and promotion of European films and other audiovisual works, as well as professional skills development, audience development and international cooperation within Europe’s audiovisual sector.
European Film Academy (EFA)
The European Film Academy brings together European filmmakers and film professionals, promotes the visibility of European cinema, and presents the European Film Awards each year. Its Slovenian membership has grown rapidly in recent years, with 32 Slovenian film professionals joining the Academy between 2024 and 2026 alone.
European Audiovisual Observatory
The European Audiovisual Observatory collects and publishes comparative data, research, and legal and market information on film, television, streaming services, and other areas of Europe’s audiovisual sector.
Europa Cinemas
Europa Cinemas is an international network of cinemas that promotes the screening of European films, audience development, cooperation, and the exchange of good practices among exhibitors. Several Slovenian cinemas are also members of the network.
